Daily Deal Discount Dealer Doesn’t Deliver

- More than 1,000 internet shoppers nationwide – including several local consumers – said they never received discounts purchased from Texas-based SaveMore.com.

BBB reports customers from 45 states filed complaints in the last ten months about this daily deal site. To date, SaveMore.com has failed to respond to more than 830 of the over 1,000 complaints on file at BBB.

A North Olmsted woman told BBB she purchased two discounts from SaveMore.com last December and has nothing to show for it. “I purchased a $25 Cabela's gift card for $15.00 AND a $25.00 Dave & Buster's gift card for $15.00. As per their instructions, I returned to their website to redeem both vouchers and was advised that the gift cards would be mailed directly to me in 8-10 days.” When the gift cards never arrived, she called and emailed the company, but received no response. SaveMore.com also did not respond to the complaint she filed with BBB.

SaveMore.com has ties to Douglas Van Arsdale, the founder of Credit Solutions of America. Credit Solutions of America is a debt settlement company that was sued by several Attorneys General in 2009 for failure to deliver on its promises to alleviate credit-card debt and lower the monthly payments of its customers and currently has an “F” rating with BBB with over 500 complaints on file. Records filed with the Texas Secretary of State show that SaveMore.com is a name used by the company Lifestyle – Save More, LLC. Augur, Inc., a company owned by Van Arsdale, is listed in the management section of Lifestyle’s filing.


The BBB suggests that consumers be cautious when considering purchasing discount coupons through third-party marketers:

  • Look closely at the history of both the coupon sellers and the businesses that will be redeeming the coupons.
  • Buy only those items or services you truly need or want.
  • Pay with a credit card whenever possible, in case you need to challenge the charge.
